Foundation for your face can be like control-top panty hose-both concealing imperfections, but can be hard to find the correct color. And the comparison doesn’t stop there. Ever seen someone wearing “-----toned” hose that were anything but discreet? The wrong shade of foundation will have the same effect: if the tone is much lighter,darker,or chalkier than your neck and chest, your face will look like it doesn’t belong to the rest of your body. Don’t misinterpret-foundation it is a great tool, and the right one can be a cure-all that evens out skin tone, pores looks smaller, smoothes dry looking skin, and leaves you looking years younger.

Colors consistantencies, finishes longevity, efficacy—Each year scientific innovations raise the bar on what foundations can do. So revisit you foundation and try something new.
On store shelves you’ll find liquids, creams, mousses, sticks, mineral formulations, mica powders and powder compacts. The right texture for you is a matter of personal preference. If you have good skin try a compact powder. Mineral powders do not have much coverage they feel heavy, pores expand and they are very drying. They are not recommended for mature skin. A silky mica powder is one of the best you can discover. It has medium coverage so skin looks silky smooth and very natural. A tinted moisturizer does not have the consistency or longevity of a liquid foundation. It slides on the skin and separates and by the end of the day it is usually completely gone. Water-based liquid foundation with at least 45 percent pigment is key. They have the ability to stay fixed on the skin all day it corrects uneven skin tone and broken capillaries, minimizes pores and looks flawless and smooth.

Chapstick-Addicts… Beware
I recently encountered a group of young girls: a bride and her entourage of 5 girls. They came in to our make-up salon to have their pre-make-up application done to see what they would look like on the wedding day. After speaking to them and applying make-up on the bride and the bridal group, I noticed that they all had very chapped lips; their lips were extremely wrinkled, cracked and looked older than their years. I asked them if they had just been out in the sun hiking or just out in the wilderness for a year. To my surprise they all started pulling out their CHAPSTICK!! Some of the girls had the same brand and others had different brands, but all were, in several forms, the infamous CHAPSTICK. I proceeded to tell them that chapstick is a protectant, but it does not moisturize. It protects lips from the wind and cold, so the lips are sealed from extreme weather. It does not allow air to get into the lip area. Lips can not breathe where chapstick is applied and it will dry and shrivel lips because of the sealing properties of chapstick . I explained to them that after you are out in extreme weather and use chapstick they must take off the chapstick and then apply a vitamin E lip treatment to the lips for moisture. Your lips will be conditioned and renewed with the proper lip products.
They couldn't believe it, they thought after all this time that their chapstick was a lip moisturizer and that it was helping their lips be more soft and conditioned. They could not understand why their lips were not getting any better. We looked at a couple of the brands of chapstick they had and right there in big letters, to their surprise, it said, "PROTECTANT"!!!
Saving your Lips with Peptides
Chapstick can be so misleading. It is a great product if you are going to be out in the wind, snow, or ocean. It will protect your lips from extreme weathers, but definitely not from extreme dryness! On a day to day basis, lip sticks and glosses can be very good lip conditioners. They allow air to the lips so lips do not dry out. There are plenty of new lip sticks and lip glosses on the market now that allow you so many choices. I prefer the new peptides in lip glosses. It gives your lips 40% more moisture, deeper hydration; lips look smoother, less lined, and more youthful.
Lip Statistics: Did you know…?
Every year women eat, lick or otherwise "smoosh" their lipsticks off. Up to twenty tubes of lipsticks are ingested each year. So beware… read the ingredients in your brand. Make sure it is fresh. It would be better for your lips, and longer lasting, if it has a Vitamin E base instead of a mineral oil base.
Always throw out your lipsticks after a year. The oil in the lip sticks go rancid and can be hazardous to your health when ingested.
When your lips get chapped for no reason the probable cause is that you are allergic to your lipstick. Lips can not break-out into a rash so they peel and get very dry. It is best to stop using the lip stick you are wearing and find a different brand.
Lip plumpers really work!! They will help your lips to be fuller by over twenty percent. It has a smoothing and stimulating effect to the lips which helps collagen reproduction.
Kissing will also help stimulate the lips and improves the fullness of the lips because it stimulates the collagen by massage. So, get to lip locking and say "HELLO!" to fuller lips!
